Syracuse, New York Child Photographer
I love shooting Violet! This time of the year is just so amazing crisp fresh air, lovely golden afternoons; leaves are starting to change, the grass is still lush green, and oh NO, Mosquitos!
This is one of my favorite ages to photograph that still babyface yet turning into a "big girl" stage... It happens way too fast, and while I know it's cliche to say, I feel it's an age that is so often not photographed. We have maternity followed by newborns, one-year-old sessions, and then usually, I don't see clients until their children are much older.
This is such a precious age, and honestly isn't ever age! If I could turn back the hands of time, I'd get my daughter's professional photo shoots at least once a year and have an entire series of printed albums to give them on their 18th birthday!
We live in a digital world, and not much is printed anymore. Its almost a lost art. I feel social media is here today and a fading trend tomorrow. Everything is digital, fast, and instantly posted for likes, and while that feels great for a few days, what happens after? Your photos vanished in a newsfeed, maybe a few years saved on your computer, somewhere in a digital cloud? So what happens when the trend fades, when the computer crashes?
The prints my grandma has that I flip through for hours are forever irreplaceable. I have always cherished printed albums. There's nothing quite like holding a photograph in your hand. I don't want myself or my children to be lost in a cloud; one day, I will be gone. I want my albums to be passed down from one generation to the next, so my children and grandchildren know where they came from and, most importantly, know we existed!
